Top 5 Smartphones for Reading


Ebook reading has brought inconsiderable amount of joy to our fellow book lovers, bringing us the convenience to access numerous amount of books in our mobile devices with just a single tap. Examples of these popular devices used for Ebook reading are Kindle, Nook and iPad, in which are all tablet PCs, but with their sizes, don't we just all wish there were smartphones good enough for reading to provide us with same contentment we get from the former devices.

Well, that's the reason, why I searched all the net to look for the best smartphones available in the market that are ideal for us book lovers and our fondness of reading on-the-go:

Who says you can't get the best of both worlds? Well, you can, Samsung Galaxy Note II is not your average smartphone with good looks and big screen because it offers advanced features similar to those you have in your tablet PCs. Yes, one can say that the Samsung Galaxy Note II is truly a smartphone-tablet computer hybrid. With its wide 5.5 display and HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, you won't feel like your reading in a tiny phone at all. The Samsung Galaxy Note II also features a blazing-fast quad-core processor, runs under Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform, 4G capability and life-long battery. And as Samsung puts it, "it has everything you need to get things done." Oh, and it also features the S Pen stylus for your ease. And did I mention, it can multi-task too!

The only problem you may get from this smartphone is it fits too big in your hands and so does to your jeans pocket. But anything other than that, it's more durable than the Samsung Galaxy S3 and has a chic design that its predecessor Samsung Galaxy Note.
The iPhone 5 is the sixth generation of the iPhone and the successor of the iPhone 4S. Unlike the older models, the iPhone 5 introduces a slimmer, lighter model, and a higher resolution perfect for reading Ebooks or webpages. The 4-inch Retina display of the iPhone 5 allows offers its users a more vivid and lifelike images--"a larger and more beautiful canvas made the right way." Another advantage that the iPhone 5 has over Samsung Galaxy Note II and Samsung Galaxy S3 is that it has the same width as the iPhone 4 thus as easy to use with one hand.

Other features of the iPhone 5 includes an ultrafast, wireless connection that lets you browse, download and stream content at blazing speeds, an A6 chip that provides performance and graphics up to twice as fast, the iSight camera that lets you now shoots in panorama and the iOS6 as its mobile operating system.
We all became familiar with this smartphone because of its witty tagline that goes, "designed for humans." The Samsung Galaxy S3 has the similar Super AMOLED touchscreen like the Samsung Galaxy Note II but has a small screen that measures up to 4.8 inches. It provides users with a 720 x 1800 pixels resolution and 306 ppi pixel density thus a clearer and sharp screen display for us readers that will totally enjoy in reading. The best part is it also features an eye-tracking ability which means that the gadget can sense whether a user is actively looking at the screen, and adjust the screen's lighting. It turns off too whenever the person is not looking at it, a smart feature that lets you save its energy battery.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 runs under Anroid 4.04 Ice Cream Sandwich platform but can be updated to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and employs other features such as the S voice, additional software features, external hardware and a wireless charging option.
Although it's not the latest phone in Nokia's Lumia Series, the Nokia Lumia 900 is said to be "the most readable smartphone screen when viewed in indirect sunlight" according to the test done by DisplayMate. Due to it's screen ClearBlack technology, the Nokia Lumia 900 was considered to be DisplayMate "top performing device for display viewability under Bright Ambient Lighting." And wouldn't you believe that it defeated iPhone 5s and Samsung Galaxy S3 in the same test, which both tied for the second spot. So if you're an outdoor type of bookworm who loves the sun's warmth in his/her skin everyday then Nokia Lumia 900 is the perfect smartphone for you.

The Nokia Lumia 900 also features a bigger 4.3" (109 mm) display compare to its predecessor Lumia 800, a substantially higher capacity battery, 4G LTE network support, and a front-facing camera designed for video-calling--an add-on for those who loves to take their own pictures.
The Google Nexus 4, or simply known as Nexus 4, is the newest smartphone from Google and was designed by LG Electronics. It has a 4.7 inch (120 mm) diagonal IPS with Corning Glass 2 display screen that offers users with 1280 x 768 px (320 ppi) resolution. Just launched last November 13, the Google Nexus is one of the newest and popular smartphone in the market up to date. It runs under Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and is equipped with a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, micro-SIM card tray for expanded memory, and a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera.

The screen colorful interface and wide screen is an eye-candy for most e-book readers and definitely will enjoy surfing our ever-friendly search engine Google with just a single tap.
